Get to know the team at Big Freight! We will be releasing a series of blog posts with interviews featuring our professional drivers and staff. We will cycle through the different departments until we get to know a little bit more about everyone. Today, we are featuring Clint Kehler in the Finance department.
What is your current role at Big Freight?
I am the Controller here at Big Freight
How long have you worked at Big Freight?
I started with Big Freight on October 18th of 2018.
Previously I was working with Wawanesa as the Assistant Manager of Financial Reporting. I was looking for a Controller position as I was more interested in doing general ledger type of work and it just so happened that an opportunity with Big Freight came about.
What are some of your favourite pass-times outside of work?
I am a die-hard NFL fan, so during the season I spend time following that. I cheer for the San Francisco 49ers!
I love spending time with my family, friends, and my dog – we have a Shepard-husky. During the summer nights we especially enjoy hanging out around the bonfire.
Tell us about your favourite Big Freight memory.
I had a really good time at the Christmas party. It was great that the food was served in a family-dinner style, and the food was excellent!
Tell us about a personal achievement you are most proud of.
I would definitely say getting my CGA in 2016. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. It was a long process that required a lot of discipline and sacrifice.
What is something you are looking forward to?
To spend my 40th birthday in Vegas next year.
Tell us a little-known fun fact about yourself.
I enjoy cooking, more specifically, anything on the BBQ. I have mastered BBQ ribs with Bull’s Eye Bold Original BBQ Sauce.
I also really enjoy watching a movie. I typically go for documentaries, but I do also love anything done by Quentin Tarantino.
What do you like most about working at Big Freight?
My drive to and from work. It is very relaxing for me and I am so glad that I no longer have to deal with downtown traffic. I can listen to my podcast or my tunes and enjoy the ride.
About the job specifically, I like the people I work with at Big Freight.
